IMSA was like one big family. The thing that made IMSA so great was that family mentality where everybody was welcome. Everybody had a good time. John and Peggy were a team. John was like the father to everybody in the paddock and Peggy was the mother. When things weren't going right, Peggy was always there to cushion the blow. If John said no, we d go to mom. That's the way it worked and it worked brilliantly. --Hurley Haywood"You don't get much more authoritative a book on IMSA than one by the son of its founder and the organization's senior director of race operations (and former president)." —Joe Dunn, Editor, Motorsport Magazine"With so much domestic race history packed within, you'll be hard-pressed to put it down." —Matthew Litwin, Hemmings Muscle Machines Mitch Bishop is the son of IMSA founder John Bishop. Mark Raffauf started working for IMSA in 1974 when he was just 16 and he s still there today as senior director of race operations. recent purchase Great Book! It's a true keeper. The IMSA Family This is a great book, it explains the heart and soul that was IMSA during that period. Well written and fantastic photos. It has a lot of facts and stories, but it was a fun time. As they say IMSA put on a race and a family reunion broke out.We were privileged to be crew members from 84-96, and we loved every minute of it. We competed, but we shared. At the Daytona 24 in 1985, the Bob Akin Coca Cola Porsche had used up its nose pieces, so we borrowed a nose from Bruce Leven's Bayside Disposal car, not a great color combo, but we finished the race in 4th. Fun times, history well told, Thank you John and Peggy Bishop for making it happen. And Thank you Mitch Bishop and Mark Raffauf for doing this book- Great Job!Excellent! Great book!
